I am horrified and saddened at the destruction inflicted on the trees of the car park area of 160 Albany Hwy.

One of the most beautiful planting of trees in any urban landscape, these young trees, tall, healthy and graceful were a joy to behold.

And now, cruelly amputated by whom? And what for?

A true arborist and tree lover would never willingly prune a tree this way at this time of the year.

These trees were presumably planted for the comfort of people visiting the many shops in the area, as such, were very successful.

At a time when the “hotting up” of city streets is in the news and the loss of tree canopy is causing concern in cities all around the country.

Could Albany create a policy of planting trees wherever possible and create a truly ‘green’ environment?
