Denmark Shire Council is set to renew the production lease on Ocean Beach lime quarry.
According to the Council agenda, Nexgen Crushing and Screening submitted the only tender which conformed to all requirements.
Shire officers recommend awarding the firm a lime sand mining contract for an initial three-year period, with a two-year option.
First big Council decision
It will be the first substantial matter the new Council has to deal with after swearing in newly-elected Councillors, and electing a President and Deputy President.
Ocean Beach Quarry has been mined on the Shire’s behalf for more than 20 years to provide agricultural lime sand to farmers.
It is located on Ocean Beach Road approximately 8km from Denmark Townsite with an access road west of Ocean Beach Road, just south of the Denmark Surf Lifesaving Club driveway.
